Over the past year I’ve had the great privilege of being able to expand my thinking. There’s many times even I’m in shock at how esoteric I can get. You gotta remember I used to think a lot of this stuff I write about was horsecr*p for most of my life. I’ve also been given the talent of being able to bring some of the esoteric things I think about into a realistic form. However, with this post I’m worried I might not be able to. You are either...

A couple of weeks ago I was surrounded by stuff. I was helping someone move and I was amazed at the amount of stuff that we moved. Overwhelmed by the experience, I came home and spend 2 hours straight decluttering my apartment. After I finished it felt great! I felt like I had everything under control again. What I’ve begun to realize is that decluttering isn’t just something we should do for our environment, but for our minds as well. Over the past 2 months...

GoodGreat
Ok ok a bit of a harsh title there, but when you really think about it, it’s not too far from the soon to be truth. I remember watching in a video a while back that there’s been more technological advances in the past decade than there has in the past fifty years. The stat staggered me! It’s amazing how far technology has come, but more so what it’s able to accomplish. Already we’re seeing many cases where technology is taking over some common...

“What do you want for your life?” “A career that fulfills me and that pays high. One where the work doesn’t feel like work at all and I get rewarded fairly for my efforts.” “Great go get it!” “How?” “If either of us knew that you’d already have it wouldn’t you? Learn the game. Play the game....

There are a lot of people, including myself, who really enjoy seeing people be happy. For the longest time I used to always want to listen to their problems, fix them, and show them the path to happiness. It really never worked. You see, happiness is a choice. It needs to be fully chosen in order to be experienced. While you can’t force anyone to be happy, it is possible to positively influence somebody to be happy. To inspire them to get that intense energy that would...

We hear it all the time, “Just move on.” or “Get over it.” The past can be a crippling thing, holding you in the grip of memories that bring you down. There’s a funny thing about the past though, and that is it will never go away if you try to just ‘move on.‘ I believe every moment of our lives happens for a reason. When something happens to you and becomes a past that cripples you, it is because within it is hiding lessons yet to...

HOW
Ladies and gentlemen, I regret to inform you there is a killer on the loose. He is a very sneaky killer and has found a way to kill without drawing a drop of blood. He aims straight where it hurts the most, your dreams, and instead of stealing your life he takes your soul. The killer goes by the name of ‘HOW’ and it is said that he is under the direct guidance of a mysterious force called ‘FEAR’. His sole goal is to make you think you can’t do...

I’ve come to the conclusion that life and leadership comes down to choice. We choose everything, even the things we don’t think we choose. Often though making choices is a never ending dilemma. It kind of looks like the picture below… Which will you choose? So I know it’s a static pic, so not the best to tell the direction of the escalators, but imagine at any point in time the either of the escalators could be going up or down, but never the same...

As the elevator’s closing, you stick you hand in and with a sudden jerk it reverses back to opening. “POP” the fuse blows as a surge of electricity fires into your house on a lightning-struck day. “WHISTLE” goes the kettle as the water reaches it’s boiling point, reminding you to unplug it and pour your hot cup of tea. Imagine life without any of these responses. With the elevator, there’d be a lot more injured hands; with the fuse,...

I’m not a particularly religious man. I like to think of myself as Pi Patel from the book Life of Pi. I believe all religions are stories that provide insights into the fundamentals of life. One may argue the word ‘story’ claiming, “but it happened. It’s truth!” When you widen your perspective though you realize there is no truth, just stories… even your life. Just because you see the glass as half full doesn’t mean everyone...
