Big congrats goes out to Charmaine for winning the tickets to the networking contest posted earlier today. Her answer to the question “What do you believe the golden rule of networking is?” was…
“Golden Rule of Networking is believing in yourself and expressing your personal brand”
What I love about her thought is that it really is all about believing in yourself. A lot of people either don’t believe in themselves or what they represent. What happens when you’re in that mindset is the energy you give off is low. You might be saying “Yea energy eh Ryan… riiiiiight” but think about it.. everything is energy! That’s why we eat.. we need energy to live. Everything does. Even a rock contains potential energy because on the ground it’s not really using it, but when you pick it up and throw it… well it can really hurt someone. So when you don’t believe in yourself, your energy level is low because your mind is pre-occupied trying to put on a ‘front’ to look good, while inside you’re empty.
As for personal brand… think of it as who you are and what you express. The best way to gauge someone’s brand is from what they’ve accomplished… They can have all the best ideas and thoughts, but if they’ve brought nothing to life, what are those thoughts/ideas good for? It’s all about living up to your promise. If you take someones card and say you’ll get in touch, get in touch! I never used to and that’s just lack of integrity. Shoot them an email if you say you will, even if it’s just to connect.

Imagine you could change the world with 2 words. Well you can, and it's simply your name. Your name not only defines you, but it represents YOUR thoughts and interests... thoughts that lead to actions, and interests that drive passion... it's these very elements that shape the world we see today. We are all part of this; each and every one of us in our own unique way. What you are about to read is a collection of my thoughts and interests... my attempts to change the world...
